The U Milosrdných apartment building, with its architecture, tries to approach Prague realities in general in the context of both a broad perception of the spirit of Prague and the local inspiration of the immediate surroundings. The inspiration for textiles and fabrics of Prague history is evident not only in the concept of the whole expression of the building but also in the details. It is a wavy, textured facade consistently metric divided by serrations. This textile theme in Prague, so often visible, has always been a part of history, but it is not mentioned in contemporary architecture. So in this case he is waiting for his rediscovery.
The overall division of the building required by the conservationist was a vertical division according to the original parcelling. Further horizontal division according to the traditional division into the ground floor, the lower part of the house and the roof landscape. This “cut” house gives the impression of smaller materials similar to linen hanging on the strings of a historic backyard. Regular installation of facades with the same windows and loggias further enhances this impression. This ripple is then transferred to the shape of window linings and textile screen blinds.
This whole architectural structure is interwoven with golden details like everything in Prague.
