Boskovice has a great potential to be a beautiful city. The charming historic architecture should extend to the present. Boskovice needs a new symbol, a new beginning.
Building a library is symbolic for the town.
The new Boskovice Library speaks a language respectful of the past, speaks an ancient language, but is contemporary because it is designed today. It works as a social centre for people from Boskovice across generations. It is strategically located and contains a democratic space. The library itself softens the not very sensitive original form.
It is inspired by a seven-toothed ridge of the original Gothic structure of the square, but despite that it is a modern library – a new symbol of contemporary Boskovice.
